Mykhailo Rychkov
Mikhailo Rychkov, is an accomplished artist with a background in graphic design and children's book illustration. A graduate of the Repin Art School, he has honed his craft across various mediums, but it is his work in watercolor that truly stands out.
Rychkov’s paintings are a blend of poetic sensitivity and realism. His ability to capture the delicate play of light on building facades, the shimmer of the sea, or the weight of storm clouds creates a strong emotional connection with the viewer. His watercolors are more than just depictions of scenes—they evoke feelings and sensations, transcending the physical objects they portray. According to the artist, the primary strength of watercolor lies in its spontaneity: with a simple set of paints, he can capture inspiration whenever it strikes. Interestingly, he believes that color is secondary to the story each painting tells.
Frequently, Mikhailo creates quick landscape sketches, characterized by minimalist line drawings enhanced with vibrant watercolor accents. These works often convey the atmosphere of urban settings or the unique hues of seascapes. His art has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, and his works are held in private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Currently, Mikhailo resides in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he continues to explore and refine his artistic expression.
