Inna Petrashkevich
Inna Petrashkevich is a contemporary Belarusian artist known for her exquisite watercolor paintings. She earned her Master’s degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Design from the Belarusian State Pedagogical University and has dedicated over 30 years to teaching painting, with a special focus on watercolors. In addition to her teaching, Inna has also worked extensively in illustration and graphic design.
Residing in the quaint town of Orsha, Belarus, Inna finds inspiration in her surroundings. Orsha is a small town in Eastern Europe, largely untouched by modern civilization. Time seems to have slowed down here, allowing the 21st century to feel more akin to the 18th.
In this serene environment, Inna creates art that reflects the little things she observes around her. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, she finds it easier to notice the delicate plants and creatures in her garden. Surrounded by one of Europe’s densest and oldest forests, Inna’s work captures the essence of nature, reminding us that everything around us is alive. Though we may not always hear them, the plants and flowers are breathing, and her watercolor garden paintings encapsulate this vitality.
Inna does not simply paint inanimate objects; she brings to life flowers that yearn to showcase their beauty and bring joy. Her depictions of flowers shrouded in morning fog evoke a sense of transience—floating like clouds, they appear for a moment before disappearing into the mist.
Her watercolor technique is perfectly suited for capturing the tenderness and ephemeral beauty of these fleeting moments, where flowers bloom vibrantly one day and vanish the next. Inna skillfully immortalizes these short yet beautiful instances, inviting viewers to appreciate the delicate nature of life.
Her watercolor paintings are part of private collections across the UK, Cyprus, Latvia, Estonia, Norway, Russia, Israel, Ukraine, and the United States. Inna regularly conducts master classes in Minsk and Moscow, sharing her expertise in watercolor techniques. She has also participated in numerous national and international watercolor exhibitions, establishing herself as a significant figure in the contemporary art scene.
