Description
Sun pours across a table: a bouquet of white, pink and crimson flowers, porcelain cups, a sugar bowl, and a red ribbon trailing over a violet cloth.
Ivan Skorobogatov paints light as color. The shadows on the cloth are lilac and deep blue, the patches of sun are pure white, and the flowers are dashed in quickly so their edges dissolve. The red ribbon cuts across everything like a line of energy. It is a still life painted with the urgency of plein air.
