Description

Big boulders standing in shallow, clear water at Simeiz in Crimea. The morning sun glitters on the surface, and you can see the stones and the green seabed underneath. Painting transparency is one of the hardest things in oil, and Skorobogatov does it with small, mosaic-like strokes that make the surface tremble. The square format pulls you right to the water's edge.
