Pears

Golden pears and a glass bowl on a table with a lace napkin, under branches of white blossom, against a heavily worked background of burgundy, ochre and cream.

Natalia Yampolskaia works the acrylic until the surface looks like an old fresco: scraped, dripped, stippled. The picture is built in horizontal and vertical bands, almost architectural. Warm, earthy and refined at once.
