Peonies in a Blue Vase

Eldiyar Sharshenbiev's round bouquet of white peonies sits with yellow centers in a pale blue porcelain vase on a plain honey-beige background.

After the darker peony paintings, this one is all light. The sun comes from the left and models the heavy flowers in ivory and lemon, and the blue of the vase is the only cool color.

Simple and calm, oil on canvas, 80 × 80 cm, and it suits a bedroom or a neutral living room very well.
