Reflection in the lake

Tall poplars and bushes at the edge of a lake, their dark reflections falling into the water, with a sunny far shore and blue sky.

Skorobogatov paints the trees in bold vertical strokes of deep green and yellow and the water in horizontal ripples of blue and lavender, and the meeting of the two sets up a strong rhythm. Warm accents on the far bank keep it from going cold.
