Harbor on a hot day

Boats moored at the foot of a massive gray fortress wall, with orange roofs peeking over the top and a pale summer sky. The wall is one big flat plane of sandy gray, and against it the white hulls and dark reflections look busy and alive. Volkov's knife leaves ridges of oil paint that catch the light like sun on water. A small harbor scene with a sense of history to it.
